Hey, it’s Cheska!

I’m an ex-scientist turned composer and creative matchmaker.

Over the last 5 years, I’ve scored dozens of independent films and documented my journey landing film scoring gigs from scratch. It’s been an amazing journey so far.

Today, I make music for documentaries with my Emmy-award winning collaborator Stephen Spies (learn more here), and connect composers with filmmakers and game developers around the world through my creative matchmaking service.

If you’re a composer who wants help finding new clients in film and games that align with your music style and professional goals, learn more about the service and apply below (limited availability).

Imagine spending more time making music, and less time…

  • competing for the same jobs as thousands of other composers

  • sending hundreds of cold emails to random filmmakers and game developers

  • anxiously refreshing your inbox and hoping someone gives you a project

  • making content to promote yourself as a composer

I can help you through creative matchmaking.

What is creative matchmaking?

It’s a bespoke service where I work with composers to match them with the right clients in film and games, and help them build real relationships that lead to work they’re excited about.

How does it work?

Creative matchmaking is a team effort. Every month, I research and curate filmmakers and game developers that align with a composer’s creative and professional goals, and the composer connects with them through email, Instagram DMs, and meetings to build a relationship. I also meet with the composer to receive feedback on the artists I’ve curated and discuss our progress connecting with them.

What guarantees can you make?

I can’t guarantee when a composer will receive work, but I can guarantee that over time, they will build genuine relationships that make landing opportunities inevitable.

How are you different than an agent or manager?

I work directly with composers to help them connect with potential clients every month, and work on a flat fee rather than commissions. Composers are responsible for negotiating their own fees and reserve the right to turn down projects as they see fit.

“Before I started working with Cheska, I was just making the switch into composing cinematic music for film, TV, and games. I’d been producing and writing for years, but I didn’t fully know how to move in that space how to approach filmmakers or line up projects that actually matched my sound and vision.

Cheska really helped me figure that out. She showed me how to navigate the industry, how to position myself, and most importantly, how to connect with projects that fit both my sound and my interests.

The advice she gave clicked fast, within three months I landed my first gig and set myself up for few more down the line.

She gave me the direction I needed to take what I already had and turn it into real opportunities.

If you’re a composer trying to break into this world, Cheska helps you see the bigger picture. She gives you the tools to move smarter, make the right connections, and really step into your lane.”
