Cheska Navarro is a Filipina-American composer based in Southern California. Her most notable scoring work includes the short film STILL QUEER which premiered at the 2023 Outfest Fusion Film Festival in the TCL Chinese Theater, dance film SEEN which won Best Original Composition at the Berlin Shorts Award Festival.
She scored the short film GOOD FILIPINO KIDS by Andrew Acedo, a filmmaker and community manager at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, and collaborated with rising star directors Matt Oflas on his USC thesis film CLOWNING TIME, and director Faith Nguyen on her film TO THE ONE THAT ABANDONED ME.
Cheska's musical style blends her classical piano background with a modern take on cinematic indie rock, often incorporating maverick instruments such as melodica, kalimba, ukulele, experimental synths, and homemade percussion.
Cheska also enjoys doing cannon-balls at the pool, playing video games, and creating educational content about film scoring on her popular Instagram account.
